If you are a frequent traveler, you know that good service from an airline can’t be discounted and here is the info of the best of the best for this year. Did your favorite carrier make it to the Top 20 Airlines?
Skytrax ranks all the airlines in the world, whether full service or budget, and they release the top 100 carriers every year. This ranking body also awards airlines star ratings, so for example, at present, there are 10 5-star airlines in the world. Guess how many came from Asia? An amazing 9! That’s 9 out of 10!!! These are Cathay (HK), EVA (Taiwan), ANA (Japan), JAL (Japan), Garuda (Indonesia), Singapore Airlines, Korean Air, Asiana (Korea), and Hainan (China).
A 5-star airline is a recognition given to a carrier for meeting a very high standard, which takes into consideration all offered cabin types from economy to business class, the service from check-in to arrival disembarkation, etc. Plus, Skytrax also includes the airports and airline hubs in the evaluation. So, if you are flying soon in a 5-star airline, you are in for a wonderful experience.
Once again, the Skytrax Top list is dominated by Asian airlines. Carriers in many Asian and Middle East hubs are very efficient. Example is that when it comes to flight delays and cancellations, the top ten like Cathay, Emirates, Singapore Air, EVA will truly take care of you. Oftentimes, if your connecting flight is late, a customer service rep from the airline will already be there waiting for you when you exit the plane that flew, say from Manila, to escort you to the next flight.
Almost every full-service carrier in Asia has made it to the top 50, including Thai Airways, Vietnam Airlines, China Southern (Guangzhou), Garuda Indonesia, Malaysia Airlines, China Airlines (Taiwan). Unfortunately, our very own Philippine Airlines ranking drop from 80 in 2023 to 96 this 2024.
AirAsia which operates as a budget airline in the Philippines is rank 30. Cebu Pacific Air, the leading budget carrier in the country, does not have a rank since the list only ranks the world’s Top 100, unfortunately, Cebu Pac did not make the cut.
